At George Washington Academy, we’re building more than a school. We’re cultivating the next generation of leaders. Through a classical education model rooted in traditional American values, GWA inspires critical thinking, virtuous living, and engaged citizenship.
At George Washington Academy, we instruct students in grades Pre-K through 7th, adding an additional grade every year through 12th grade. Students receive a classical education rooted in the Trivium, with a focus on literature, history, philosophy, math, and science. Core instruction in Latin, logic, and rhetoric, alongside the arts, fosters critical thinking, clear communication, and strong moral character, preparing students for success in high school, college, and beyond.
At George Washington Academy, we believe every child deserves a strong academic foundation. That’s why we use Direct Instruction (DI) in our elementary grades. DI is a proven, research-based teaching method that provides clear, structured lessons in reading, writing, and math.
Direct Instruction gives our students the tools to excel, creating a learning environment where no child is left behind and every child is challenged to reach their full potential.
The fine and performing arts will be a part of the experience for our students. Education that fosters creativity and problem-solving is crucial to one’s ability to be successful in the world.
We will offer a list of creative course offerings; which include visual arts, theatre, music performance, digital arts, photography, architecture.
GWA stands out as the premier choice for parents in the region seeking a classical, rigorous, and values-driven education for their children.
Classical education has led students across the country to excel in academics, leadership, and ethical reasoning. We emulate this success, creating lifelong learners and community leaders.
Williamson County and surrounding areas are growing rapidly, and the demand for an alternative to traditional public and secular private schools is increasing. We provide a unique educational option focused on academic excellence and character development.
At George Washington Academy, students thrive in a structured, supportive environment led by caring, highly qualified teachers. Using Direct Instruction, lessons are taught step by step so every child masters skills before moving forward. Clear routines and consistent expectations create stability, while daily successes build resilience, independence, and lasting confidence.
Our students learn in classes that combine multiple grade levels. This nontraditional format groups students across different ages together in the classroom. Research shows that when compared to traditional grade-specific classrooms, students taught in a multi-age setting tend to exceed academic and social expectations. By exposing learners to peers both older and younger than themselves, multi-age classrooms foster collaboration, leadership development, and mentoring relationships that benefit students.
